Python
Innova fairway driver
Simulated flight at four arm speeds
Each row is one throw in the DGFV flight model at one of the free tool's skill presets (Rec, Int, Adv, Pro): a new Star Python at 175 g, thrown flat, right hand backhand, no wind.
| Skill preset | Speed | Carry | Peak height | Lands | 3D |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rec | 54 mph | 158 ft (48 m) | 5 ft | on the line | Throw |
| Int | 61 mph | 245 ft (75 m) | 7 ft | on the line | Throw |
| Adv | 64 mph | 304 ft (93 m) | 10 ft | on the line | Throw |
| Pro | 70 mph | 367 ft (112 m) | 12 ft | on the line | Throw |
Seen from above, thrower on the left. The side-to-side scale is stretched 7.4 times so the curve is visible.
What the simulation shows
- It shows no turn at any of the four arm speeds: the flight never drifts right of the line.
- It lands on the line at both Adv and Pro.
- Going from Rec to Pro adds 210 ft of carry (158 ft to 367 ft).
- At Adv its carry ranks 337 of 348 fairway drivers in the catalogue, and 22 of 23 Innova fairway drivers.
Discs with similar numbers
The three catalogue molds closest to Python on speed, glide, turn and fade without being identical, thrown the same way at Adv (64 mph), each in the plastic the free tool picks first for its maker.
| Disc | Numbers | Carry | vs Python | Lands |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| #4 Driver Lightning | 7 / 4 / -1 / 2 | 329 ft | +25 ft | on the line |
| Trak Vibram | 7 / 4 / -1 / 2 | 329 ft | +25 ft | on the line |
| Cyclone Discraft | 7 / 4 / -1 / 2 | 329 ft | +25 ft | on the line |
Throw it yourself
The free tool opens with the Python loaded. Change the plastic, weight, wear, wind, release angle and throwing hand, and watch the flight in 3D.

How these numbers were made
Flight numbers are the ratings carried in the DGFV disc catalogue. Distances, heights and paths come from the same flight model the free tool runs, simulated on 2026-10-31: skill preset power, nose angle and spin, automatic launch angle, no wind, ground play off, so carry is where the disc first lands. Real throws vary with form, plastic, weight and weather. DGFV is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Innova.
